I've seen a couple examples of people doing mismatched hub/wheel lacings. They usually did it with the crow's foot lacing pattern, so it looked more symmetrical.

My approach would be to do a modified crow's foot for a 24h hub. Four crow's feet per flange, with the radial being the appropriate lengths, and the crosses being the lengths for a 36h 2.5X.
