Ironically, it's probably because there wasn't enough weight in the front. Long John bikes handle better when they're loaded down.

I think there's a Cargo Bike sub forum the OP can go to check out other similar bikes.

Edit to add: that looks like a Larry vs. Harry Bullitt bike. I haven't ridden one of those, but I assume they're relatively light, being made of aluminum, compared to steel bakfiets bikes.
