But back to the e-brake thing. I think it's misguided to blame the cyclist in this circumstance. Or his bike. I've gotten in accidents on every bike I've ridden, whether it has brakes or not. We can drop hypotheticals right and left, but in this particular incident, neither riding style nor bike setup played as much a factor in the accident as the lack of warning signs leading up to the construction. I think the city ought to be blamed, and this thread retitled "Please use an E-sign."
