Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Bikes: 8 bikes - one for each day of the week!

Let me just break an arm and leg for you, and save you the trouble.

Bikes: 74 paramount track, 80s maruishi track, 70s chesini track.

I wonder if Sheldon ever wakes up and thinks to himself:
"Hmm... maybe today I won't be totally magical... maybe today I won't be a huge ray of sunshine for anyone that has ever thought fondly of a bike... maybe today I will just try not to be the apple of everyone on here's collective eye... hmm... maybe I'll just stay in bed and not do anything"

and then he stays in bed, and he is still totally all those things. It's so comforting to know that there's a Sheldon in the world. Like, yeah, the world sucks and I'm angry a lot of the time... But, my gosh, that picture pretty much could make the frowning of a whole century dissappear. No joke.

Obviously your point about knowing how to use it is understood. But fact remains that no, someone good with brakeless will not fare just as well. It wil take them longer to stop.

Agreed, the mental portion is the biggest anyways. But if we compare apples to apples (equal reaction time), your brakeless friend will lose. Not to mention the additional time it takes to get your ass off the seat and lean forward to try to skid.

I can bust a skid no problem with my ass planted firmly on my saddle.

i think it's about time to end this little argument. we all agree that we're going to die some day. and if i die in an accident, my life insurance pays double. more money for the illegitimate children that i may or may not have.

Wait, riding without brakes seems like suicide. God, why would you do something so dangerous. Then again Darwin had a point. Go for it. Take off your breaks and then don't wear a helmet either. You're just making the human race smarter.

Go back to the bridge you came out from under.

The ss/fixie threads have no use for grammar police. You get the idea.

Way OT, but uncharacteristically has 20 letters in it. I can't think of another word that you would use in normal conversation or writing that has 20 or more letters.
