I'd think that downhill fork would suck up a lot going thorough its 6 inches of travel first. It also causes the bike to ride a bit high in the front. In all fairness, I'd agree with your quote. We're not bloodly likely to ever be in a situation where it would endo. And I've learned to respect the speeds you can achieve on one bike with two riders.

Sticky brought up a good point, but next he'll expect motorists to signal their actual intentions, and share the road with cyclists.
