That is probably what I will go with if I end up putting STI levers back on this bike. Brand new, a shifter set is about $175 so it looks like it could be done for $225ish with RD, cassette, and chain. Even at this point, the NOS Dura-Ace 7900 stuff on eBay would be cheaper.

I do want to keep the downtube shifters for a while, hence the hand-wringing. They're especially handy in the winter, I can wear cheap bulky gloves and still shift easily.

My greatest disappointment in this whole research project was discovering that my all-time favorite RD aesthetically, the Dura-Ace 7402, has a weird cable pull and only works with 7400 series shifters
