Maybe I am strange, but I honestly don't mind wearing an extra layer or two for riding. It only becomes burdensome to me when it's below say 15-ish degrees F, but some of my must fun rides have been sunny winter days in the 20's. Way better than the trainer, for sure. Riding with friends for company helps BTW.
On the drive back from the store yesterday, I noticed that the road that I was on was in pretty good condition - ice/snow encroaching from the sides, sure, but otherwise free from debris and pothole free (many roads look like war zones right about now). "Hoo hoo - maybe I should take the new Cervelo out for a spin around the neighborhood!" I thought... and then I remembered that it was -7° at the time. Yeah, pass.
