Turns out the bend was an optical illusion. You are correct; the seatpost is too small. I haven't fiddled with it to see what size it should be. I am very much enjoying riding it though, over short distances. It measures out as a 52cm seat tube and my normal size is 60, with the occasional 58. But I can ride it and it's a nice ride. And a great guest bike. Thanks again for the ID help.
