the example in the photo does not look like it would have been original. but then am certainly no Schwinn expert!

the thread of the front hub axle is 8.0mm X 1.0

most any front wingnut of French manufacture will fit. Huret, Souva, etc.

[the bicycle's front hub is made in France by the Maillard company for Schwinn]
