It really is a personal decision. Do what you want, us mopes on the internet should have little to no sway.

I am not worried about the money aspect. I had wonderful priceless memories of those days gone by. After seeing some modernized versions of the same bike I now am leaning towards stripping off the paint and rechroming the frame.
At least it will appear this old dude will be cruising...
