Nope, I didn't want to use the zip tie either, didn't want it messing up the paint. I used the foam strip under the mount and had no issues with movement. I'm using a Lenzyne Micro bag that I already had. Had to use a dremel to open up the hole on one side of the bracket so the buckle would fit through, but that was an easy fix since it's just aluminum.
