Just for kicks-and-giggles is a Restomod out of the question? A Restromod Serotta with SRAM would be complementary to a 3Rensho with Shimano. IMHO, early Chorus slant parallelogram lacked elegance with Campagnolo playing catch-up. But, maybe a Suntour Superbe would be vintage style (like 1984 Alexi Grewal’s ride). While, the 7Eleven Huffy (Serotta) spec’ed DA.
