No, there are not, that I'm aware of. Hub drum brake threads are not necessarily designed for high disc braking torque loads, especially what a tandem generates. I don't think an adapter is readily available.!
Yes there are such adapters. TandemsEast has them, as I'd expect would other tandem dealers. DT makes them, which is a reputable brand. I've used them in the past and didn't have any issues, but we are a fairly light team and don't tend to be hard on equipment.
