It's inevitable, there being no real "performance improvements" for the basic road bike left to be had.

Also, who wants to bet a beer on how long until road bikes go 135? (Really, that should have happened 20 years ago. There was never any reason for two standards 5mm apart, one for road and one for MTB.)
