Nope, when I was first getting into racing in the 90s in Central NY it seemed like everyone fast had a C-dale or a Serotta and I wanted one too, somehow I never ended up with either for road.
My wife has the CAADX and a dual suspension, two of my kids have their 24" MTB, and I ride a trail 2sl mtb so in the last 3 years we have gotten a good number of cannondales but never a road bike. When I worked for a dealer that carried them I was always impressed by their offerings but wasn't in the market for a new bike at that time.
Bikes are meant to have whatever you hang on them and you should always ride what you like.
