Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Cannon campy

I have a new project that suddenly popped out, a Cannondale Supersix 4 2011 Rival, originally had those components. I got the frame with only a crankset and fork, thats it.

Later on the same guy sold me a Campy Protenza 11 crankset which is missing the inner chainring😒 I'm here for help if its a good project as its a pretty old nice bike with modern components that I'm able to install since its a bb30. I see most people put the Potenza on old commuting bikes haha I honestly feel the potenza is underrated. I looked and looked

and didn't find anyone putting a potenza on an Cannondale😢 What you think, do it or not worth it? Its a matte black raw if you're curious about the frame color👌

I wouldn't change the crankset just because you have another. Is there something about the crank that's in it that makes you want to deal with BB30 pressfit and finding a small ring for the Campy crank you later got?

I'm sure there are plenty who have put potenza on a C-dale and absolutely no reason you can't. Messing with BB30 isn't any fun though not all that hard and a campy crank can be nice if you just want a matching group on the bike. My wife's C-dale CAADX tiagra came with an FSA omega crank which is heavy and shifts poorly and the BB was already a little crunchy after a light cross season when I found a carbon Campy CX11 crankset for 125.00 new. So now her bike has Tiagra chain, cassette, shifters, ders and a campy carbon crank, took almost half a lb off and shifts better. I've been thinking a chorus or potenza group would look good on it if she wanted. I would search UK sites or someplace like bike24 for the chainring, it will be way too expensive here in the states.

No, there's nothing wrong with the Sram crank it has but I feel the Campy would be better in all sort of ways, long last, value, look, and so on.

I appreciate your motivation to go Potenza lol and I bet, its light aluminum so it really does reduce weight overall😊 I'm actually trying to get the full set and you're right, the US prices can be ridiculous but I have time and maybe get some parts used🤔 derailleurs new for many reasons 😂 Have you owned a Supersix yourself?

Nope, when I was first getting into racing in the 90s in Central NY it seemed like everyone fast had a C-dale or a Serotta and I wanted one too, somehow I never ended up with either for road.
My wife has the CAADX and a dual suspension, two of my kids have their 24" MTB, and I ride a trail 2sl mtb so in the last 3 years we have gotten a good number of cannondales but never a road bike. When I worked for a dealer that carried them I was always impressed by their offerings but wasn't in the market for a new bike at that time.
Bikes are meant to have whatever you hang on them and you should always ride what you like.

Wow I bet a 2.8 or Cad3 back in the 90s. I have a 2.8 1996 and plan on keeping my 10 year relationship with it keep on going 👍 Nice bikes dude and I agree with you to the fullest, I was just trying to get a review from a Supersix owner or pass user. Tbh I'm sure I'm putting the Potenza on it, just so many projects going on that its gonna take a while 😂😂
BTW I'm new to mtb,cx,trail, haha so how's the 2sl treating you? I also plan on getting a fs mtb in the future but as of right now I have a hardtail Rockhopper 😊😂 ****, it runs

Handles amazingly, good geometry that lets the bike really move.
