People left out the important question as to if an 80s bike can make the 100 miles, does it have 80s tires? Even if the bike has been hanging in perfect conditions the whole time tires dry out and don't work as well over time, make sure you have good if not new ones before doing a 100 miles. If uncertain then replace tires and tubes and you'll be good for thousands of miles.
