Nice bike. We have 3 LHTs in our family.

Isn't brass super heavy? Not a big deal until you have to haul your bike, your stuff, and yourself up a 10% grade. You might look for anodized parts like water bottle cages, pedals, and colored cable housings and hoods; you'd be surprised what a big impression accent colors can make. Personally, I wouldn't change out steel bolts for brass or copper due to strength concerns; frankly, they just fade into the background. But it's your bike, ride your own ride.

Brass is about 15 % heavier than most common steels, but I’m not really building for speed... besides it’s only a few bolts and washer s lol
