Will a smart phone live through rough trails when mounted to handle bars? I have killed phones and cameras when placed in the tank bag on my dirt bike. Only GPSs made for motorcycles have held up. I'd say the high speed vibration kills phones more than the rough ride. Motorcycles have the engine buzzing the handlebars and phone.
As for a fat bike, I really can't answer that....
