so, I'm gonna offer a different perspective on this...
lets say I have a little knowledge on Spec Carbon bikes...
let's say this was a silk purse, now looking a bit sow's ear...
and when you're buying used you need to be able to accept scratches, need for new consumables, as long as structure and most key stuff is in good mechanical shape.
but
This was a 2012 Roubaix Expert SL3 ... predominently Ultegra, with DT Swiss wheels, new prolly in the High $3K ...
The frame now, if in solid condition, is easily worth $500, maybe $600
The key stuff, Frame condition, Wheels condition (not the tires...), BB, Headset. Derailleurs, Crankset, Brifters...
The ONLY way to know the true condition of these components is to put hands on the bike.
The pics tell you almost nothing. Except the Front Brifter is now a Tiagra - which may want to be replaced at some point...
Tires, bar tape ??? come on, who buys or doesn;t buy a bike because of these...? They are consumables !!! as are chains, and by the way, Roubaix work well with most any 10 spd chain, I prefer KMC and avoid wipperman... if a chain is even needed...
Crank - big ring is a Question, left side of ring teeth seem cupped, right side of ring teeth seem fine - That can't be... if they're cupped, then they would all show that... So the image is just not telling the true condition. Yes a new big ring would be about $100...
so, how much are you willing to live with and work with over a period of time? The tires are certainly awful... LOL!
But really, you'd be hard pressed to find a nice SPec Allez for $600-700. A Roubaix SL3 at that price - highly unlikely.
Have you ridden a Roubaix? Is this size appropriate for you? Roubaixs are certainly very nice riding bikes... I have a couple, although a bit older than this one...
You can have this bike in very good condition... in a 54cm, one year newer... it may need bartape... here:
Specialized 2013 Roubaix Expert SL3 Compact
If I were reasonably close to Granbury and interested in getting a Roubaix, I would prolly make the trip and put hands on...
It may actually be a Pygmalion silk purse, for the patient owner...
BTW, if you do get to see it, the pic of the seat tube... at top, on the underside of the top tube, is the badge holding the model year and bike serial number...
Thx
