Hi,

You may have gotten the cleat mounted to the shoe from a pure mechanical perspective but I suggest you go to a bike shop that can properly aligh the cleats from a biomechanical standpoint. Cleat alignment is not a trivial thing and if this is your first pair of cycling shoes with cleats (shounds like it) then it is even more important to make sure that everything is aligned properly.

Improper fore and aft placement and rotational alignment can at a minimum reduce your efficiency on the bike and at worse damage you knees. A good alignment is worth every penny.
