You might take a look at the Bontrager Flare ION's or just the Flare's themselves if you'd be amicable to a longer light on the bars. The smaller ION's might not have the lumens you are looking for but for daytime use they are more than bright enough to attract attention, IMO.
Some of them can even be turned on/off and flash pattern controlled by a GPS device.
It's for night, I'm usually on the bike 30 minutes to an hour before sunrise. The ION is the style I'm looking for but I need something a little brighter.
My issue with my Niterider is that the handlebar mount is so huge and tall. I might have to go with something that sits on top of the bar but is low proffile like the
Cygolite Dash Pro 600. It doesn't look too bad.
