Bright strap on headlight

I have a Niterider 900 and on my modern bikes I mount it on my gps stem mount under the computer. I don't like handlebar mounts where the light sticks up on top.

For my vintage bikes I'd like to have one that straps on to the bars and sits on the front like the cheap one in the picture. Are there any good ones out there with at least 400 lumens? I could buy two of them and have it on each side of the stem.

For nighttime use or just daylight?

You might take a look at the Bontrager Flare ION's or just the Flare's themselves if you'd be amicable to a longer light on the bars. The smaller ION's might not have the lumens you are looking for but for daytime use they are more than bright enough to attract attention, IMO.

Some of them can even be turned on/off and flash pattern controlled by a GPS device.

It's for night, I'm usually on the bike 30 minutes to an hour before sunrise. The ION is the style I'm looking for but I need something a little brighter.

My issue with my Niterider is that the handlebar mount is so huge and tall. I might have to go with something that sits on top of the bar but is low proffile like the Cygolite Dash Pro 600. It doesn't look too bad.

The nightrider 500s are a little smaller and work OK. It's hard to get a good size battery into something that mounts like the Schwinn in your picture.

I am a long time user of MagicShine 808 headlights. Perfect for the o.p.'s purposes. I get (got) mine from Action LED (worth checking out) the last time, but recently when I looked, none were there. I hear MagicShine has come up in the world and now sells direct. I am interested in the Cygolite 800 lumen light though. If anything could sway me from my (over) 12 year love affair with MagicShine, the Cygolite could be a contender.
