You say you don't want Sunrace, but people seem to like them. Either the Sunrace that is "HG compatible" or a 6-speed Shimano HG, along with a new HG chain like the HG71, will improve shifting immensely. I did that upgrade on an old Fuji and the difference was amazing. HG really is better.
