Actually, dual control lever is the term Shimano uses. While STI is a Shimano dual control lever, I'm not certain that every dual control lever meets Shimano's definition of a STI. I suppose I could look that up, but certainly someone else will want that acclaim.

I'm certainly not a fan of this term as it says nothing as to what the lever is actually controlling. As my lame joke implies, controlling "duals" isn't a thing.
