If it's a late '70s or early '80s it'll have a Japanese crankset -- SR, I believe; there'll be date codes on the back sides of the crank arms. Also on the stem.

You're gonna love it. I've got a '77 GT; they're great bikes. You paid too much though -- I got mine for $10 at a yard sale.
