How to transport a bike up to Crescent City from SF?

Hello all!

I have this somewhat crazy idea of flying over from Europe/Sweden to California and ride a bike from around the Oregon border down to San Francisco.

But elderly (soon 63) and really not thaaat fit and always like to camp in reasonably comfort I have not the smallest of tents and also always carry a small although lightweight chair and some other stuff to make life as good as possible

So I am thinking of renting so called cargo bike with electric pedal assist I have found a company just north of SF where I can rent such a thing for a month, but how do I get myself and the bike up to say Crescent City or maybe Eureka?

Amtrak does not allow such “heavy” bikes and bikes with tires wider than 2”.

And on a Greyhound Bus the bike needs to be somewhat disassembled and packed in a flat box but the rental company was not that keen on having the bike taken apart - and I am not that certain I will be able to get it all back in one piece…

There does not seem to be any car ferries along the coast, and renting a car one-way seems impossible to Crescent City (Eureka might work) but rental cars does not have a trailer hitch to attach a bike mount to…

Any ideas?
Cheers from the Arctic Circle!
