So working on the new old madone and I have 2 questions.
1. I noticed while on the big chain ring and smallest cog, there seems to take more effort to move the cranks than normal. Like the chain is too tight, however, the chain has appropriate slack. Example, it requires pressure to spin the cranks back wards and if I to spin the cranks they stop abruptly. As I shift to a bigger cog or even the small ring it gets easier. Thoughts? Something other than don’t pedal backwards RJ.
Do the cranks continue to spin after you take your hands off of them?
2. Head set has play, not significant but I can feel it. I tore it a part and packed it with grease but I can still feel it. Can the fact I have an extra large periscope on top of the stem be the cause of this? I really don’t think I should try tightening it anymore. Bars spin fine.
Might have too much spacer. Maybe only a millimeter.
