^ I had a similar experience.
The one and only time I've used pickle juice was deep into a gravel race. I'd already had a small cramp and was coming up to a nasty climb. I downed a bottle of pickle juice (
this stuff) right before the climb and carried on.
Did it prevent me from cramping further? Well, maybe. I didn't cramp. Was that because of the pickle juice? Who knows, but I rated it at the time!
