Looking up, my guess is you are using HEET product that removes water from gasoline (aka "dry gas") that used to be methanol but I think now is isopropyl alcohol?
My understanding is as follows:
Yellow bottle Heet is methanol. Red bottle ISO-Heet is propanol. Folks use the yellow bittle stuff in their stoves and avoid the red bottle product
