I.m a big proponent of "fix it, don't junk it" but if the shell is damaged, or the foam has lost the fight...you have to relinquish it to the dump. Recovering a tattered saddle be a satisfying adventure but not if you're just applying a thick coat of lipstick on pigskin...to mix some metaphors...
