It would take a huge culture shift to get people to stop using them. Pressure to perform so that funding/sponsorship is continued, the weight of money making drugs freely available, and the spin doctoring that always promises that athletes can't perform at the top without product X means coaches and athletes alike are going to find it hard to resists the lure. Must keep winning, must keep winning....
See, that's why I'm an advocate of performance un-hancing drugs. Imagine a bunch of guys trying to ride off their trees. THATS something I'd pay to watch!
