I had an opportunity to weigh my bike on a large game scale on a tour in 2014. The bike and equipment weighed 139 pounds. About 100 of that was gear. As rider, I added another 150 pounds or so. Loaded up on water and food, I might have been 300 pounds, all in. The tour was 3200 miles.
The bike was a 2008 Redline Monocog 29er that had evolved into a capable touring bike as original parts wore out and were replaced. The singlespeed drivetrain had, by the time I toured with it, been replaced with a NuVinci N360 CVT hub.
