If 'indigenous' means the 1960s 'Mod'/Peter Max era, then I'd believe it. I was thinking it would be more like the pictographs found in the southwestern USA but with colors, and the colors made from natural plant materials (seeds, fruits, plant sap, insect larvae, etc) or even colored sands from local sources. Some of those original old ones look really interesting. This just looks like someone's semi-abstract art done with paint from a local hardware store.
