During a 2-14 cross-PA tour I got ride "Graffiti Highway" before the new owners of the property later covered it with dirt due to liability concerns. The property is the former section of PA 61 that had to be relocated because of the underground first that is burning in the area of the former town of Centralia, PA.
The abandoned stretch of PA Turnpike also has a lot of "art work".
I went down a rabbit hole a few months ago when I read about the last 60 years of the fire. It's wild- from the multiple instances of incompetence that likely led to its start, to the handful of people who distrust the government(coal rights if the town ceases to exist) and were allowed to stay, to the water geysers that explode in towns miles away due to underground air pressure and water table levels.
