Hiker Biker Campsites in the US
The Hiker Biker sites maintained by Oregon and California at their state parks are ones you just show up to use, no reservations needed. I used them as much as practical in my planning.

I was there 10 years ago, so my information is quite dated, but these were my observations at that time:
