At age 63 and reasonably fit, I really like my Armata's stock 48/16. All my riding is urban. I wonder if you might wanna go a little stronger than 40/16 for downhills, but 2.5 ratio is a darned good starter and one can always coast (as I do, even at 3.0

) If you can stand yoobtube, there are videos on non-horizontal drop outs without tensioners. Just a PSA, nothing wrong with what you got.
