Bikes: Tarmac Disc Comp Di2 - 2020

For me, there isn't anything one way or the other that makes the type of brake important or a concern. So just buy the bike you want to get based on intended use, fit, and color. If you are looking at new bikes, most in the road bike category will be disc brake. Or will be once you get out of the lowest price point for that brand and model. I you are looking at used bikes you might still find plenty with rim brakes, but they'll also be way older bikes with older components.

One consideration might be that already built wheelsets will have more selection for disc brakes. And if you ride the bike long enough or happen to ruin a wheel, you'll need a wheelset one day. Or if by chance you want to see what a $5000.00 wheelset upgrade will do for a $3,000.00 bike!
