I'd like to keep the Ultegra crankset, as it is a 165mm and paid for, plus the Shimano cassette. I've read that the front SRAM eTap derailleur will work with the crankset, and the SRAM rear mech works with the cassette. Probably/maybe will have to change the brakes, as SRAM pulls less cable. This all sounds do-able, but, am I missing anything? Has anyone actually retrofitted a vintage bike using eTap? Or is there another electronic option out there?
No, I'd rather not buy another bike just yet. OK, I lied - so I'd love another bike, but not now.

The Wheeltop system has received some recent buzz in these forums. And from my reading comprehension, no major complaints except you have to charge it on the bike. No removable battery. Customizable to any cassette you will ever own.
The rim brake version is $599.
