Or BART. Many online vids of this. Also, the Thruway buses are contracted from various bus companies, so in the end, the driver is the ship captain and has the final say. Amtrak says they'll take the bike in luggage provided there's room...leading to nightmares where your bike is left sitting in the station. Never happened to me, in fact the driver had me put the boxed bike in luggage myself and then wedge it in tight with other bags.

Here's the narrowest part of the last ten miles up along the Meced river to Yosemite...don't really know how the YART bus Amtrak contracts fits through there. It can be well over 100F on a summer afternoon, but trust me, the Merced river is mighty cold.
