on the other hand, the evaporust bath Viola is getting right now is doing better than I thought. The surface area of dings is pretty significant so nail polish won’t do. Plus, that shade turquoise is tough to match.

(I also thought of finding the electric cobalt blue my Randonneur was, but that might be too much for my heart).

You said turquoise was tough to match, and you are correct. I had that Novara Randonee that I spent hours try to match the paint on, only to find out what I though was close wasn't close at all!
I doubt I will save the paint at this point. More rippling than I thought. The important thing is that the interior rust has been neutralized.

…once I chip away the loose paint the unpainted areas, it will look even poopier.

As for the item displacement in the Evaporust I thought about using gravel in zip locks as a better idea.
