Re: the Ringlé, I'll never allow a part on my bike that secures a cable by driving a setscrew into it. It permanently damages the cable, preventing the adjustment from being moved later, and makes the cable more likely to fatigue and start breaking wires.

Never tried a Paul Moon Unit, but I really respect how they clamp the cable, more like how a Campy sidepull does it, than the hole-through-a-bolt like Mafac, Weinmann, Universal et al. $60 a pair for Paul's is a tough pill to swallow, but understandable I guess for something so niche and low-volume. Maybe if cost were no object, but I'm a cheap bastard and so far I've beem happy with my Mafac, Weinmann, Universal et al. With Weinmann being my usual go-to, due to taking two different wrench sizes. (Mafac, what were you thinking with those thin wrench flats, and both at 9 mm?)

Also, my idea of C&V is a bit older than what some of you like, and I like to use period-correct unless there's a real good reason not to. I even use Mafac yokes if the brake is Mafac, just for matchy-matchy. Hey I never claimed to be logically consistent!
