When you got the non-chainring-side out was there a bearing race, or loose bearings. that came out with it? Then you could just pull the spindle out? If so that would mean there's just another bearing race(or loose bearings) and the cup off the other side left to remove from the chainring side. If that's the case just fish the bearing(s) out, clean up the inside of the cup and the bearing (or get replacement bearings) regrease and re-assemble. If it was me and it was 68mm BB I'd try some more to get that stuck cup out and replace with a true sealed bearing cartridge. To help with loosening the stuck cup I'd keep putting some penetrating oil on it over a few hours, also screw the cup back in on the other side to help keep the circular shape of the BB so excess force you use don't distort it into an oval.
