Sorry for the late reply, due to two broken arms as a consequence of the fall. Allied has offered to ship a stem with a new design. I have not received it yet, so I do not know what has changed. I am not aware of other cases like mine. I have only found the following review by the Cycling Independent, who criticized some aspects of the stem design. I am not an expert, but the fact that the front bracket of the stem blocks the handlebars with two bolts at the bottom, instead of one or two at the top and one or two at the bottom, like other designs, has an impact on the force distribution.
