A company that according to its blurb was "founded by a visionary engineer" 15 years ago yet we still haven't heard of it? So the product is a direct drive 5-phase BDC rear hub motor with internal controller, that claims increased efficiency over the usual 3-phase motors. The slight (<=3% for the motor itself, plus regen?) increase in efficiency and smoother operation hasn't been significant enough for the major manufacturers to use it in their motors, the added complexity and cost doesn't justify it. So the internal 5ph controller in the Falco is a barrier to wide adoption - not a proprietary technology, but I don't think they've open-sourced their controller design so good luck slotting in a 3rd party replacement - compared to 3ph where you can mate your external controller of choice with a different brand motor, and run open firmware.
