Falco motor
I searched the forum and did any hits on the Falco electric motor. It looks like it’s a one-man shop or a family operation.
My Azub 6 came with a Falco drive installed, but, candidly, it looks like a custom install by the old engineer, who owned the bike before me.
I think I’ve decided to take it off. Maybe I can sell it on marketplace. The battery is fine and the motor seems fine but it’s just pretty big production. and it weighs 1,000,000 pounds.
Does anyone have experience with these?
Thanks

Falco (AIR) is an easy coast company that manufactures "e" kits in India. They always were too expensive and problem-laden to be of much use to the west coast DIY market IMO. This must be custom since I don't see any "e" Azub's, but if it functions adequately, why not leave it motorized unless you don't want that function?

A company that according to its blurb was "founded by a visionary engineer" 15 years ago yet we still haven't heard of it? So the product is a direct drive 5-phase BDC rear hub motor with internal controller, that claims increased efficiency over the usual 3-phase motors. The slight (<=3% for the motor itself, plus regen?) increase in efficiency and smoother operation hasn't been significant enough for the major manufacturers to use it in their motors, the added complexity and cost doesn't justify it. So the internal 5ph controller in the Falco is a barrier to wide adoption - not a proprietary technology, but I don't think they've open-sourced their controller design so good luck slotting in a 3rd party replacement - compared to 3ph where you can mate your external controller of choice with a different brand motor, and run open firmware.
