Price and brand is no guarantee of quality. What you do get when buying a name brand is someone to sue if things go wrong. I have personally had great luck with cheap china parts but that does not mean I won’t get a dud on my next aliexpress purchase.

Plenty of garbage out there from name brand producers. This was the steer tube on a cane creek invert. A $1000 fork. Fully delaminating the length of the tube. It was replaced by cane creek no questions asked. However had not known better and I ran this fork I could have been seriously injured.

I have had three sets of china rxl drop bars. I can stand on them full weight and jump. Does that mean all there bars are this strong? No and there is no way to know which ones are defective. Just like the name brand companies. It’s all faith. lol. There are pictures of these rxl bars failing pretty bad while I can jump up and down with 200 lbs on mine.

Something else to understand, unless it was installed by a shop or a professional a failure could be improper install. Many people are wrenching on there own bike when buying china parts and most have no idea what they are doing and don’t have the correct tools to install even handle bars correctly.

Edit. I should also point out I have never been screwed by a china company or had anny serious failures. Any item or part that was defective was either refunded or replaced. I have built two and a half gravel bikes with china parts and owned two road bikes that were all china(tantan) I have had several issues in that time with quality. On one of the tantan bike, the seat post was misshaped and would not tighten down, replaced by tantan at no expense. One was a toseek fork with out of square caliper faces, replaced by toseek. They did not want the bad one back. I managed to face the bad one and add some washers and got two for the price of one. Both now years old with many miles on them. Had a custom Ti front fork made and it was a total disaster and was refunded. They did not want it back and after hours of modifications and a custom crown race and shims to straighten the wheel… it worked.
So you see if you are willing to work with the parts and understand what you are getting it’s great and lots of fun. If you need it to work and just bolt on get a name brand.
