A misfortunate incident however I'm glad you got away with no broken bones. I always signal drivers behind me that I'm moving onto the road when there's parked cars, especially down hills so I avoid a heavy impact. I was fortunate to miss a few swinging doors and had a friend go flying over one once.

I'd like to report another negative for the Sydney cycling community. The pass from Hunters Hill Tarban Creek bridge that splits from Gladesville into LaneCove. Well the pass from the Tarban Creek bridge onto the 1 way loop that goes under the Gladesville brdige. There's a rocky track that heads up to the Gladesville Bridge footpath accommodating cyclists has been blocked off but a new welded metal fence joining the two that used to allow a rocky walkway up onto the Bridge. I used to walk my bike up that walkway, past the bushes and straight up onto the Gladesville Bridge. Now you have to cycling into the right side of the 1 way road past all the fence and do a bit more of a climb to get to the same location.
