From: middle of the Great Corn Desert
brand: Sears Free Spirit Ted Williams
model:
description: 3 speed cruiser made by Murray.
frame weight: 8.08 pounds
fork weight: 1.81 pounds
frame size:20"
wheel size:26 x 1 3/8"
year: ~1970 ( The date code on the Shimano 3CC hub is unreadable.)

someone drilled holes in the frame for internal routing of the generator wires so this frame is about 10 grams lighter than stock.
Murray bottom bracket construction. It has a clip that traps the down tube, seat tube and chain stays. The internal clip is held with a single weld. Looks like they added some putty to keep it from leaking. They notch the main tubes to make room for the other tubes. The chain stays are bashed in to make room for the bb cups. Head tube internal lug is a single piece for the top tube and down tube. Similar lug for seat post-top tube joint, note the top tube is tapered where it meets the seat tube. Looks like there was some movement where the down tube enters the bb. I've seen other Murrays fail there. Build it cheaper and faster!

Internal lug to hold the top tube to the seat tube. Yes it does interfere with the seat post.
