The article says the X model has 721 hp with the boost of the hybrid motor. Before I retired, I worked on the 650 hp models. Driving one is kinda ridiculous. I think those cars had a 0-60 around 3 seconds, the new X shaves a half second off of that. Asking for trouble. You can be cruising at 30 mph and go to 80 before you realize it.
Just the instant torque of an EV can get you in to trouble. My family vehicle can do 0-60 in about 4.2, IIRC. It's super fun, it makes matching speed & merging absolutely trivial, but yeah - you can step on the accelerator and find yourself going
much faster than intended in a very short order.
